MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin attorney general candidate Ismael Ozanne says he now believes he received a ticket in an alcohol-related crash in 1987, not 1986.

Ozanne’s campaign revealed last week that he crashed his car in Madison when he was 16 years old and got a ticket for violating Wisconsin’s “Not A Drop” law, which prohibits drivers under the legal drinking age from having any alcohol in their systems.

The campaign said the crash occurred in 1986. Ozanne campaign strategist Melissa Mulliken said Monday that Ozanne, a Democrat who serves as Dane County’s district attorney, now believes the crash took place in August of 1987.

Ozanne’s ticket came to light a day after Republican attorney general hopeful Brad Schimel said he was ticketed for first-offense drunken driving in 1990.
