A Madison-based company will pay $80,000 in forfeitures and court costs for violating Wisconsin air pollution laws at a hydraulic fracturing and sand processing facility in Marshfield.
Completion Industrial Minerals LLC did not update its construction permit to reflect changes in the facility’s plans, according to a news release from the state Attorney General’s Office.
The company also continued to build its facility after the permit expired in March 2012, according to the release, and also failed to document and submit plans to keep tabs on emissions from the facility.
After the state Department of Natural Resources received complaints, the company worked to address the violations, according to the release.
The settlement was reached earlier this month and was signed Dec. 19 by Wood County Circuit Judge Nicholas Brazeau Jr.
