The Wisconsin Department of Justice has awarded 11 grants worth nearly $561,000 to help victims of sexual assault and domestic abuse.
The grants – which come from the STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant Victims Services – will go to organizations across the state, according to a news release from Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen’s office.
The money for the grants comes from the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women. The money will help house and protect women in need, according to the release.
