Who’s Doing What: Van Hecke named Judicial Commission executive director

David Groose, Jennifer Jackson and Trevor Joike joined Quarles & Brady LLP.

Groose joined the Milwaukee office as an associate in the public finance practice group. He earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Jackson joined the Milwaukee office as an associate in the corporate services practice group. She earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School.

Joike joined the Madison office as an associate in the intellectual property practice group. He earned his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

• Paul Mirr joined Wausau-based Ruder Ware LLSC’s Eau Claire office. Mirr’s practice focuses on the organization of business entities. He earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

AWARDS & HONORS

Mark Kircher, a partner at Quarles & Brady LLP, was inducted as a fellow in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.

Kircher practices in the area of product liability defense. He has represented products clients as national or regional trial counsel in state and federal courts in 45 states. He earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School in 1985.

Fellowship in the IATL involves a nomination followed by a vetting process with opposing counsel and judges before whom nominees have practiced. Membership is limited to 500 active members in the United States.

ON THE RISE

Jeremiah Van Hecke was named executive director of the Wisconsin Judicial Commission. Van Hecke replaces retiring director James Alexander, who served since 1990. Van Hecke earned his law degree from Tulane Law School in 1999.

The Wisconsin Judicial Commission is an independent state agency that receives, investigates, and prosecutes claims of misconduct or disability of Wisconsin judges and justices.
