A Milwaukee assemblyman proposed a bill Tuesday that would require all juries in criminal cases to consist of 12 people.
The bill, introduced by state Rep. Frederick Kessler, D-Milwaukee, would remove a portion of the current law that says defendants may have their cases heard by fewer jurors.
The measure is co-sponsored by several Democrats. A Senate version of the bill has not yet been introduced.
Kessler is out of the country and was not immediately available for comment.
