MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Milwaukee County court commissioner has pleaded no contest to filing false tax documents.

Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said Geneva McKinley was convicted of two counts of filing false tax documents following her change of plea hearing Thursday in Dane County Circuit Court.

Judge Julie Genovese withheld sentence and ordered McKinley to serve 18 months on probation. McKinley was ordered to serve five days in jail as a condition of probation.

If McKinley attends a required number of counseling sessions, she can petition to have her probation end after one year.

McKinley was convicted for filing personal income tax returns for the 2005 and 2006 tax years that contained false statements. The Department of Revenue will seek restitution.

McKinley’s attorney did not immediately return a call Thursday.
