Wisconsin circuit courts will be hosting meet-and-greets and hanging banners in September to thank the tens of thousands of state residents who report for jury duty each year.

In 2011, according to a news release from the State Court’s Office, 83,768 people reported for jury duty in Wisconsin and 20,896 people served as jurors during a trial.

Counties including Dane and Rock are hosting meet-and-greets with court officials as part of September’s statewide Juror Appreciation Month and others, such as Waukesha County, will offer cookies and other treats.

County residents are encouraged to contact their respective clerks of circuit court for more specific information about activities that may be planned in their county.
