FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) – A Ripon man accused of trying to hire a hit on a former business associate is out of jail after posting a $1 million cash bond.

Sixty-one-year-old Lee Stellmacher is accused of trying to hire members of a motorcycle gang to kill Rick Parks and trying to hire an undercover officer posing as a hit man to injure another former business associate. Both are involved in business-related lawsuits against Stellmacher.

Fond du Lac County District Attorney Dan Kaminsky had asked the judge for no bond or $1 million bond, citing concerns for witness safety.

The Fond du Lac Reporter says Stellmacher is scheduled to go on trial in September.
