Attorney Kevin Klein of Phillips will be sworn in as the State Bar of Wisconsin’s new president during the organization’s annual meeting Wednesday at the Chula Vista Resort in the Wisconsin Dells.

Klein will serve a one-year term beginning July 1. He succeeds attorney Jim Brennan of Milwaukee.

Klein said he will encourage fellow attorneys to help shape the future of the legal profession through volunteering with organizations like the State Bar, according to a news release from the State Bar.

Klein is a 1981 University of Wisconsin Law School graduate who has been a sole practitioner in Price and neighboring counties. He has served in a variety of senior State Bar leadership roles, including positions on the Board of Governors and its Executive Committee.

He is also the Butternut Village Attorney, president of the Price County Bar Association and is involved in other community groups, including the Phillips Chamber of Commerce Board, the Flambeau Hospital Foundation, and the Price County Women’s Health Alliance.
