Who’s Doing What: State Rep. joins Walny Legal; Chicago firm opens Milwaukee office

State Rep. Jon Richards has joined the Walny Legal Group LLC, Fox Point.

Richards, a business and estate planning attorney, brings nearly two decades of experience working with Wisconsin businesses and families to the firm. He serves as the state representative from the 19th Assembly District.

Richards most recently worked as a sole-practitioner. Before that, he worked at Milwaukee firms including the Law Offices of Emmanuel Mamalakis SC, Jeffrey S. Hynes & Associates SC and Adelman, Adelman & Murray SC. He earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1994.

Daniel Radler

• Quarles & Brady named Daniel Radler chairman of the firm’s national intellectual property practice.

Radler, a partner in the firm’s Milwaukee office, focuses his practice on all aspects of patent procurement and licensing in a variety of disciplines, including material handling equipment, heavy machinery, manufacturing and molding processes, fluid dynamics, printing technology, hydraulics, and general mechanical and electro-mechanical devices. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from Marquette University Law School.

• The Chicago law firm of Arnstein & Lehr LLP opened a Milwaukee office with the addition of partner Charles Pautsch and associates Lisa Baiocchi and Jesse Dill to its labor and employment practice group. All three attorneys join Arnstein & Lehr from Jackson Lewis LLP, Brookfield.

Pautsch has concentrated his practice in labor and employment law for more than 34 years. He earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Baiocchi concentrates her practice on labor and employment litigation in both state and federal court as well as representing her clients in matters before administrative agencies. She earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School.

Dill represents management in a variety of labor and employment law matters before state and federal courts. He earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School.

Arnstein & Lehr’s Milwaukee office will be located in the Renaissance on Water building at 309 N. Water St., Suite 210.

Godfrey & Kahn SC, Milwaukee, announced its 2011 Fellowship in Law Recipients: Jason Sanders at the University of Wisconsin and Christopher Flowers at Marquette University.

The program provides a full, three-year scholarship to one student at the University of Wisconsin Law School and one student at Marquette University Law School. In addition to tuition, recipients are offered mentoring from Godfrey & Kahn attorneys, as well as a position as a summer associate at the firm. The selection of fellowship recipients is mutually determined by Godfrey & Kahn and the participating universities.

Sanders is the eighth recipient of the Fellowship in Law at the University of Wisconsin Law School. He graduated from St. Norbert College in De Pere with a bachelor’s degree in humanities. He will receive his master’s in interdisciplinary studies this summer from Western New Mexico University in Silver City, N.M.

Flowers is the sixth recipient of the Fellowship in Law at Marquette University Law School. He graduated from State University of New York at Albany with a bachelor’s degree in communication and rhetoric and a master’s degree in political communications.

Thomas Drought joined Davis & Kuelthau SC as an of-counsel attorney in its Milwaukee office. He will be a part of the trusts, estates and succession planning practice group.

Drought has more than 50 years of experience with different types of trusts and probate administration proceedings. He earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Peter Garson joined Dewitt Ross & Stevens SC’s Madison office in the firm’s business and trust & estate planning practice groups.

With nearly 25 years of experience, Garson concentrates his practice in a wide variety of areas including business start-ups, merger and acquisition for both the acquiring and selling company and reorganization transactions. He received his law degree from Marquette University Law School.

Anthony Menting was named senior partner at Stafford Rosenbaum LLP, Madison. Menting earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School and has been practicing family and divorce law for 18 years.

Victoria Karcher joined Gingras Cates & Luebke SC, Madison. Her practice focuses on personal injury, professional malpractice, employment law, civil rights and class actions involving wage and hour violations.

Karcher earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2011.
