On Tuesday, Gov. Scott Walker appointed John Murray as the executive director of the Office of Justice Assistance in Madison.
Murray currently serves as the mayor of the city of Sun Prairie and is also the executive assistant at the Department of Safety and Professional Services.
The OJA is responsible for administering a variety of criminal justice and homeland security grants, including those tied to the federal Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Act, the Violence Against Women Act, the Justice Assistance Grant program and the State Homeland Security Grant program.
