The Wisconsin Club in downtown Milwaukee is suing one of its attorney members for failing to pay for his daughter’s wedding this summer.

According to the complaint filed Tuesday, defendant Keith Kolb of Fox Point owes $18,497.18, plus interest, to the private club for his daughter’s wedding on June 25.

But Kolb demanded a 50 percent discount after one of the wedding guests burned her hand at the reception when she caught her shoe heel in a grate filled with smoldering coals and fell backward, according to the complaint.

Staff attended to the woman, who declined transport to a hospital, according to the complaint, and the wedding celebration continued as per the terms of the contract.

According to the complaint, John Constantine, general manager of the Wisconsin Club, denied the discount request and demanded full payment.

Constantine could not immediately be reached for comment, nor could attorney Frank Gimbel, who is representing the club in the suit.

Kolb currently works for Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc. as public finance director and could not immediately be reached for comment.

Prior to joining Baird in 1985, Kolb practiced municipal bond law, specializing in federal taxation and general finance law, according the his company biography.

He graduated from Marquette University Law School in 1982.
