A Milwaukee bankruptcy attorney is the subject of a complaint filed by a local television station seeking more than $18,000.

WCGV-TV, which operates My 24 Milwaukee, filed a garnishment summons and complaint for non-earnings against attorney Paul Strouse in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Wednesday.

The station alleges that Strouse, who previously ran commercials on the network, owes $18,516.55.

As the creditor in the complaint, WCGV-TV is seeking non-earnings garnishment from Strouse in the form of bank assets, which is why Wells Fargo Bank is included as the garnishee.

Strouse said he had not yet been served with the complaint and declined to comment further.

He did say that he no longer advertises with the station.

WCGV-TV general manager David Ford also declined comment on the complaint, other than to say the station has had previous problems with Strouse.

In February, the court issued a judgment against Strouse and ordered him to pay WCGV-TV $17,211.50 owed for failing to honor and submit payment for a year-long commercial contract in 2009.

According to court documents, the contract terms called for monthly payments of $1,665 for 63 spots per month on WCGV-TV and $2,415 for 57 spots per month on sister station WVTV, known as CW 18.

According to court documents, Strouse denied being delinquent in payment and argued that an agreement to terminate the contract one month early was disregarded by the station.
