MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has named Scott Baumbach as full-time secretary of Wisconsin’s Department of Workforce Development.

Baumbach had served as interim secretary since last month when Manny Perez resigned just five months after his appointment by Walker.

Baumbach was named the department’s deputy secretary last January. Before joining the department, he was an associate and partner at the Michael Best and Friedrich law firm in Milwaukee from 2001-2010.

In a statement, Baumbach said he looks forward to helping achieve Walker’s goal of creating 250,000 private sector jobs by 2015.

Baumbach received his law degree from Marquette University Law School.
