Mom testifies about last moments of infant’s life

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — The mother of an infant allegedly killed by his father has testified in Sheboygan County Circuit Court about the last moments with her baby.

Tammy DePagter said she argued with her then-boyfriend, Andrew Goldston, on March 9, 2010, and he took their 1-month-old son, Leander, out of her arms. DePagter said Monday the baby was fine when she left to visit a friend. A short time later, DePagter said she got a call saying the infant was at the hospital. Leander died nine days later of what doctors say was “abusive head trauma.”

The 24-year-old Goldston is on trial for first-degree reckless homicide. The Sheboygan Press says the trial is expected to last all week.
