A Boston legal services group paid the price for the celebrations of rowdy Celtics fans, who got out of hand after the hometown team took its first championship title since 1986. Video shot during the celebration that got out of hand shows three street signs being tossed through the front windows of Greater Boston Legal Services.
Our sister publication Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly spoke with the group’s disheartened executive director, who discussed recent renovations they had made prior to the mayhem.
He also noted that while the person responsible has the right to legal counsel, he won’t be receiving it from GBLS. The group does not provide legal defense, but even if it did, there would be a conflict of interest.

I really enjoyed seeing the Celtics trash the LA Lakers 4-2, because the Lakers and their fans are posers and wannabees. Now is the time to step up and right this wrong; the team should give this group $1 million as a good faith gesture. That’s barely more than a first-round pick and much less than the ring Kobe had to buy his wife after his trip to Colorado.
